TOS-EULA Task Force - Phase 2 Deliverables

Proposed deadline: Internet Identity World 10, May 18-20, 2010

Deliverables:

  1. Release white paper on proposed TOS / EULA reforms
    1. Enhance content to be more persuasive
  2. Release slideshow presentation describing the DP approach to TOS / EULA
  3. Schedule one-day workshops with lawyers
    1. Get lawyers to talk through the issues
    2. Schedule one in March, and one in April
  4. Schedule workshop with site managers
    1. What does portability policy mean to you?
    2. Learn site operator "consumer behavior" when it comes to privacy and portability policy:
      1. Who do they trust for guidance re: site practices and policies?
      2. What messages trigger change?
      3. What objections/concerns come up?
      4. How cheap/feast/easy would it have to be for you to commit?
  5. Release narrated, embedable video version of slideshow
    1. Identify someone who can make the videos
  6. Develop legal rationale, models of how to think about the question
    1. Scope
    2. Waivers of responsibility
    3. Accountability
  7. Write legal boilerplate
  8. Release application that helps site owners adopt DP TOS / EULA model
    1. Write application spec
    2. Write legal language
    3. Build application
  9. Launch web site for Portability Policy education
  10. Develop a portability policy

Calendar:

  1. Workshop RSA in March, and get people's feedback
    1. Figure out what we want to accomplish
  2. Legal workshop in April
  3. IIW in May
