A couple weeks ago we put out a message for a Volunteer Community Manager for the DataPortability Project and i am proud to announce that Danny Housseas has agreed to fill this role starting immediately!

The DataPortability Project Healthcare Task Force met on Thursday, November 13, 2008.  The goal of the Task Force is to identify the unique requirements within the generalized healthcare domain to support the ability for networked entities to access and otherwise leverage consumer-centric data.  Once identified, the Task Force will publish guidance to facilitate user-controlled, privacy-respecting data portability....

Five volunteers took on new responsibilities at today's weekly steering group conference call. Congratulations to Daniela Barbosa, our first steering group chair; Elias Bizannes, vice chair; J. It is a couple days late since I was working on the new format and I have been on the road- but hopefully you will like the new format and we can continuously build on these monthly reports that serve not only active DataPortability Project members but also users, vendors and developers who want to be kept informed on the progress of the project....

One problem we usually have in the Technical Action Group (TAG) is how to find consensus on certain points. In order to solve this the following process is proposed:

This announcement follows this process. So please discuss this proposal as defined inside it until May 24th 12PM GMT.

The process tries to solve the following problems:

• discussion is only happening between 2-3 participants in the TAG usually....

Our message of the month is that DataPortability.org has direction. Three, actually.

1. Doing the Right Thing: the challenge of morals, ethics, and laws
2. Supporting the Social Software Stack
3. Technology Evangelism and Consumer Marketing
