Evangelism Action Group Responsibilities

(as discussed with Chris Saad and Elias Bizannes, Tue Jan 22nd 2008)
first draft by Marjolein Hoekstra

Engage with the other Action Groups to monitor news and encourage their progress
This means: initiate supportive relationships with the team leads of each of the other action groups. Assist in summarizing and propagating their progress.

Communicate and propagate DataPortability milestones and progress to internal stakeholders and the broader community
This means: inform company reps, bloggers, mainstream-media writers, and other members of the press. Respond to inquiries.

Take ownership of DataPortability-generated media
This means: edit and review press releases, FAQ documents, blog posts, and any other public page

Monitor references to DataPortability, related initiatives and standards, as well as engage in discussion with the community.
This means: create methods (news radars, bookmarks, visualized timelines of events) that help track news about any of the related technologies and the achievements of the workgroup and its subsidiaries. Participate in conversations in comments, on Twitter and other fora. Find and track events. Advise about possible participation / delegation.

Facilitate connections between relevant stakeholders
This means: identify opportunities to introduce parties and take action

NOTE: See the DataPortability Evangelism Projects Directory for active and proposed projects related to the stated responsibilities along with their associated points of contact.
