Overview

As more applications become DataPortability enabled, and services that store data for other applications emerge (for example, the Service Catalogue), the need for a standard mechanism for updates becomes more necessary. This document proposes that these updates be made available via a combination of two IETF proposals:

• The addition of a HTTP PATCH verb, described at http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-dusseault-http-patch-11.txt
• An XML patch mechanism, described at http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-ietf-simple-xml-patch-ops-04.txt
